Stanley Quarter Park Pond is nearing completion after a year-long dredging project that included
approximately 19,000 cubic yards of material hauled to a landfill site in Berlin, CT. This material
posed a challenge in loading and hauling due to the geological makeup of the soil and its moisture
content. We had to specially fit out our dump trucks to safely handle and move the material.

The final design met all expectations and included great care for the ecology by carefully working
around the ponds edge and the relocation of fish and turtles during the process. A forebay was constructed
to reduce the amount of sediment build up in the pond which gives the City a location to dredge occasionally
in a controlled environment as pond maintenance. Once grass is planted in disturbed areas, the temporary
fence will be removed and the much anticipated use of the park will be open for public use.

We look forward to seeing it next spring!
