RTE 77 Improvements

Location: Guilford, CT

The goal of this project was to create better and safer pedestrian access along the busy 1/2 mile of Route 77 from the Elizabeth C Adams Middle School to the Guilford Public Safety Complex in compliance with CTDOT. Sidewalks were installed primarily along the East side of the road along with two solar powered flashing beacons for crossing the road near the school and switched over to the West side at the Northern portion. This project began in April 2022 and was substantially completed in September for the school’s returning students. Minor drainage improvements were required and traffic camera detection was installed so that the lights would better coordinate with traffic. All-in-all a straight ahead project that has greatly improved the safety along this busy corridor.
