St. Thomas More serves as the Catholic Chapel & Center at Yale University and it resides in a building that is over 100 years old. Located on a postage stamp lot, the building has an original stone foundation and part of this renovation included the installation of a new elevator. In order to make that work in the building, we had to excavate the basement level – this had to be done by hand as there was no way to get any equipment into the building. We also installed a water pump in order to keep water out of the basement and dry for operations.

For the landscaped garden in the back of the building we built a retaining wall, laid the foundation for the fountain, installed concrete sidewalks and upgraded all the building’s utilities. The entire parking lot utilized impervious pavers to prevent flooding and keep water from inundating the City’s water drainage system.
